Coding Rainbow - Homepage, Youtube

Daniel Shiffman's Coding Rainbow

Daniel Shiffman is the author of The Nature of Code, a professor at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and a prolific creator of educational programming content on the web. I found Shiffman’s Coding Rainbow youtube channel while getting back into Processing and creative coding.

These videos do a wonderful job at hopping back and forth between theory and praxis. Needing to understand why in addition to what and how, I love this. Shiffman’s energy is infectious and I keep coming back for more. Viewers can enjoy all of his work for free but, if inclined, can support his work on Patreon. Patrons get access to patron-only Slack channel where you can chat with other viewers and Shiffman himself, get help, share work, etc. My favorite non-work related use of Slack I’ve seen.

“Witchy Grrrl Pop” station - Google Play Music

Witchy Grrrl Pop station

Curators of the station describe the vibe of the station as follows: “Spooky female vocals over Southern-rap-influenced electronic music distinguish this playlist, with plenty of noise-pop, chiptune, and hip hop mixed in for good measure. It’s purple lipstick music to read Jezebel to.”

Lots of Grimes, Purity Ring, and Sleigh Bells comes up in this mix. If you’re lucky you’ll get hit with a perfectly timed “Pro Nails” from Kid Sister.
